Kiran Rathod got a very good start in Kollywood. Starting with super hit Gemini opposite Vikram the busty actress went on to do Anbe Sivam with talented Kamal Hassan, Villian with Ajith Kumar which was a huge commercial success, Winner with Prashanth and Diwan with Sarath Kumar all of which got critical applause and more or less were successful at the box office. The peak time of Kiran came with the release movie New a 2004 box office hit.
The movie was directed and produced by S.J.Suryaah who also played the lead role. The movie based on a Hollywood movie was a crowd puller but banned by Madras High Court because the movie was a bit too arousing. Kiran Rathod acted as a hot sexy maami who lusts after the hero and exposed her navel and other assests generously. But as they say, times change and in film industry times change faster. With the advent of new babes the career of Kiran Rathod suffered and she took a back seat.
Gradually, she started to appear in streamy item numbers. IN a released movie Nalai Namathe, Kiran Rathod acted as a sex worker. Although in past the controversial roles like playing prostitute, or a sexy bhabhi or promiscuous housewife has brought actresses fame and given their career a boost, same does not seem to be happening with Kiran in this movie.
